On Saturday, September 12, pro-life Americans will honor the memory of more than 66 million unborn victims of abortion during the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children. Our parish will pray a Rosary for the Unborn at 10am at Holy Cross Cemetery that morning.

On the 25th anniversary of 9-11, there will be a Community Service of Remembrance at 8:30am at the Caroline County Courthouse. Guest speaker, Lt. Col. Franklin Childress, will tell his story about how he credits God's providence with saving his life that day when he was supposed to be at the Pentagon and wasn't. Come to commemorate the courage and honor the sacrifice of all of the first responders and citizens who did lose their lives on that fateful day 25 years ago.

The Annual Marian Pilgrimage for our diocese will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Shrine of Our Lady Queen of Peace on the campus of Holy Spirit Church in New Castle, DE. This year's theme is "Our Lady of Nazareth" and guest speaker is Rev. Matthew Kauth, author of The Imitation of St. Joseph. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Our first Super Sunday of the program year will take place on Sunday, September 20th with the Knights of Columbus offering their buffet breakfast after the 8:00a.m. Mass in the Parish Hall. Cost for the buffet breakfast is just $6 per person with a $35 MAX per family and the menu includes scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, sausage gravy with biscuits, potatoes, pancakes and beverages. Our parish Youth Ministry gatherings will begin again on September 20th. All youth in grades 6-12 are invited and encouraged to join us for faith, fellowship and fun through prayer, play and service.

This year's Maryland Right to Life Banquet will take place on Thursday, October 15th from 6-9pm in Annapolis. The guest speaker will be Sarah Zagorski Jones. Against all odds, Sarah miraculously survived an induction abortion and was born alive at 26 weeks. The abortionist advised leaving her for dead. At 16 months old, she was placed in the foster care system. Foster care is where she experienced pro-life convictions in practice through a loving family committed to her care. Sarah’s adoptive parents remain an active part of her life. Her story has been featured on Fox News, CNN, NPR, and in the Associated Press, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, National Review, and more. All parishioners age 65+ and their spouses (or guest over age 60+) are invited to attend our Senior Appreciation High Tea Gathering on Tuesday, October 6th from 9:30-11:30a.m. in the Parish Hall. This October, two Holy Hour/Happy Hour events have been planned. The first event will be a Scotch & Cigar Night for Men on Friday, October 16th and the second event will be a Wine & Cheese Night for Women on Friday, October 23rd. On Saturday, September 5th, Bishop Koenig will celebrate the 4:00p.m. Mass at St. Benedict Church and will install Father Markellos as the 24th pastor of St. Benedict Parish. After Mass, heavy hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served in the Parish Hall. Please join us for this celebration! No RSVP required.

Another free Faith & Fun Day has been planned for children ages 4-12 in our Parish Hall for Tuesday, August 18th The theme for the day will be "Archangels & Guardian Angels" and will include games, music, lunch and angel-focused crafts and activities.

Join Caroline County Clergy and Laity for the annual March for Jesus on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. The march will begin at 6pm at St. Luke's Global Methodist Church, Denton and will continue to the courthouse green in Denton for prayer, praise and fellowship. This is an annual pre-Summerfest event creating the opportunity to pray for peace and the success and safety of Summerfest.

The Parish & Family Life Committee is sponsoring a Summer Fun Raffle. Tickets are sold out. Registration is now open for our parish Vacation Bible School with the theme "Tracking Mary: Mysteries and Messages" which will be held this summer on July 6th through July 10th from 8:30a.m. until Noon each day. Children ages 3 – 11 (MUST BE POTTY-TRAINED) are encouraged to sign-up (parishioners and non-parishioners alike). The Sodality is hosting a retreat for all women of the parish on Saturday, May 16th from 10:30a.m.-1:00p.m. in the Parish Hall. The theme for the retreat is “She is Called” and parishioner, Dr. Janyne Althaus, will be the presenter. Lunch will be served. Seats are limited to 50 attendees and the retreat is free of charge. On Holy Saturday, April 4th, there will be a blessing of Easter Food and Baskets at Noon at St. Benedict Church. All parishioners are invited to bring Easter food and/or Easter baskets for blessing.

April 12 is the Second Sunday of Easter and Divine Mercy Sunday. We will have a special Divine Mercy Celebration from 3-4 PM in St. Benedict Church. There will be Solemn Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction, Singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and Confessions. Afterwards, there will be delicious refreshments in the Parish Hall provided by the Ladies Sodality. We hope you can join us and experience Jesus’ unconditional gift of Mercy.

Join us on Sunday, March 15th for our annual Garlic & Gaelic Celebration from 4:00-6:00p.m. in the Parish Hall as we celebrate the feast days of St. Patrick (March 17) and St. Joseph (March 19). The gathering will feature our annual Chili Cook-Off. Any interested parishioner is encouraged to bring a crock pot of chili to enter into the Cook-Off (and to share for dinner). Chili toppings, beverages and desserts will be provided. There is no cost for this event. Please RSVP by March 11th via Flocknote or by contacting the Parish Office. When you sign-up, please indicate if you will be bringing a pot of chili. There will be prizes for the top three chili’s with the first place winner receiving a $100 cash prize.

Caroline County Right to Life will host a Fundraiser Luncheon on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 11am-2pm in the Parish Hall. Keynote speaker for the luncheon will be Dr. James Kelly, a physician, surgeon and board-certified forensic psychiatrist with over 40 years experience. The luncheon will also feature special guest, Laura Bogley, Executive Director of Maryland Right to Life. Cost for the luncheon is $20 per person and youth ages 18 and under are free. Tickets may also be purchased at the door at the cost of $30 per person.

Our Bells of St. Benedict Christmas Bazaar will return this year on Saturday, December 12th from 9am-4pm in the Parish Hall. The day will feature homemade food, the Parish Market with homemade cookies, a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus for photo opportunities, a variety of vendors and much more. Make plans to join us.
