COMMITTEE MISSION
The purpose of the Social Concerns Committee is to inform and involve people of the parish to meet the needs of the parish and community. The goals and objectives of the Committee are:Establish a parish information action program designed to promote Christian Service.
PROVIDE EDUCATION ON SOCIAL JUSTICE AND HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES AND CONCERNS.
Respond to social issues and human rights.
Provide direct service and/or goods to persons in distress or victims of human injustices.
Cooperate with the Diocesan Dept. of Catholic Charities in achieving goals on social issues as articulated by the Bishop.
To be aware of proposed state and national legislation affecting social issues and actively supporting efforts towards reform.
This committee encompasses the areas of Human Dignity (Pro-Life), Peace and Justice, Social Awareness, Welcoming, Outreach Efforts, etc… Deacon Bill Nickum, Chairperson
