A decision has been made to cancel the parish Fall Fest event which was to have taken place on Saturday, November 8th. Therefore, all activities associated with the event including the kid's games/petting zoo/crafts, ticket auction, bake sale and lunch as well as the evening dinner will NOT take place. Ticket sales for the dinner were very slow and the Fundraising Committee didn't feel they could justify the expenses and volunteer man hours related to the event without hope of adequate attendance or income.
We thank all those who purchased dinner tickets. We will be reaching out to you in the days ahead to refund you for the cost of your tickets.
The Fundraising Committee had already begun to create and compile theme baskets and auction items for the ticket auction at the event. These baskets and items will be raffled off at other upcoming parish events.
This is a busy time of year for sports, family gatherings and other community fundraisers and events and this reality probably led to the low response to the Fall Fest event.
We thank all of you for your support of our parish fundraisers and events and look forward to seeing you at future events. Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please reach out to Anne Henderson at 302-547-7503 or [email protected].
Volunteers from our parish and other area churches will collaborate again this year to prepare over 1,100 boxed meals for distribution on Thanksgiving Day to those in need in our local community. The meals consist of everything one would expect for Thanksgiving Dinner: Turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Green Beans, Corn, Sweet Potatoes, Slice of pie, Roll, and Butter. If you are in need of a dinner, you can sign up to receive one by visiting http://bit/ly/NUTS2025MealOrder or by calling 302-566-5141. If you’d like to volunteer to assist with meal prep or other duties, visit http://bit.ly/NUTS2025Volunteer to sign up.
Our parish will host it's annual Forty Hours Celebration on October 23, 24 and 25. This year, Fr. Markellos will offer reflections on the Eucharist. The celebration will also include opportunities for confession and adoration along with a closing Mass to include a Eucharistic procession and Benediction on October 25 followed by a dinner in the Parish Hall. Make plans to attend.
