Earlier this month, the St. Joan of Arc Council Knights of Columbus organized efforts to collect donations from St. Benedict/St. Elizabeth Parishioners to assist the Little Sisters of the Poor with items needed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please join us in congratulating Deacon Hal Jopp who was ordained as a permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Wilmington on May 10, 1980. Deacon Jopp is one of our parish treasures! The month of May signals a deepened devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary as Mother of God and as our spiritual Mother. We will crown Our Lady on Mother’s Day, May 10. Also, in celebration of Mother’s Day, we encourage you to use your weekly envelope to mail in your Mother’s Day Remembrances. You may also contact the parish office (parishoffice@beparish.com or 410-634-2253) to add your intentions. All mothers will be remembered at Mass on May 10.

All parishioners are invited to join Fr. Lewis, either virtually or in person, as the North Caroline Clergy participate in the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7 at Noon by praying for law enforcement, medical professionals, churches and families and more on the grounds of Calvary Baptist Church 1120 Market Street, Denton, MD. The event is a “drive-in” event with social distancing rules in effect. You may also access the event on Facebook at Caroline County Concerts of Prayer. Fr. Lewis will be leading the prayer for families.

In a spirit of fun and in an effort to stay connected and share our care and love with one another during this time of quarantine and isolation, a group of parish volunteers has been busy painting rocks with messages and images of faith and inspiration. Watch your doorsteps and front porches - one may be arriving at your home soon!

Enjoy a feast before the fast ... Come to the Parish Hall on Tuesday, February 25th from 5:00-7:00p.m. for a delicious meal of pancakes and sausage and fellowship with your parish family. There is no cost for the dinner but a Free Will Offering will be taken up for the benefit of the Poor Box. Hope to see you there!

The Blessed Virgin Mother Ladies' Sodality is sponsoring this retreat which will focus on the book "The One Thing is Three" by Fr. Michael Gaitley. They have sponsored two prior retreats using books by Fr. Gaitley and each one has been informative and inspiring. Books will be provided and there is no cost to attend. Simply contact the Parish Office to register.

Following so many others and to comply with recommended social distancing to limit the spread of coronavirus, we find it necessary to cancel the Walk for the Well of It which was originally scheduled for Sunday, March 22nd. Members of the Walk for the Well of It Planning Committee will reach out individually to all registered participants to deliver or mail your race shirts. Join us for "A Night in Paris" on Saturday, February 15th at 7pm in the Parish Hall. Tickets are $40 per couple and will be on sale after all Masses beginning January 25th.

We will host a Tacos & Trivia event on Friday, February 21st. Come at Noon for Tacos and play Trivia at 1pm or come at 6pm for Tacos and play Trivia at 7pm.

Our parish Youth Ministry will be hosting their annual Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, January 18th from 5:00-8:00pm in the Parish Hall. The 5:30p.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Benedict Church that evening.

On Tuesday morning, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit Puerto Rico, killing one man, causing dozens of buildings to be destroyed and leaving tens of thousands of people without power. For many residents of Puerto Rico, this is the third time they have been impacted by a natural disaster.

Calling all young adults age 18-35! We will gather at Tenchi's Restaurant in Greensboro at 6:30p.m. on Wednesday, January 22nd. As pilgrims from our parish prepare to attend the the Annual MARCH FOR LIFE in Washington, D.C. on Friday, January 24th, make some time to come and watch this powerful movie about one woman's life-changing and life-giving journey. Two showings - Thursday, Jan. 23 @ 6:30p.m. and Friday, Jan. 24 @ 1:00p.m.

On Tuesday, December 31st, we will have a Noon Year’s Eve celebration in the Parish Hall beginning at 10am. The event will feature model trains from Eagle Line Railroad (Mr. Talley Ober) in the Great Room of the Family Life Center, mini horse rides, a countdown to Noon with sparkling beverages and bells tolling and other children’s activities. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend, especially families with children.

On December 14th, the 5:30p.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Benedict Church and will be followed by a a time for food and fellowship in the Parish Hall to celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Mexican tacos will be served. Please RSVP by contacting the Parish Office if you plan to attend.

This year, our parish will have a float in the Denton Holiday Parade on Thursday, December 5th. Make plans to join us.

Our parish will take the lead in preparations for the 28th Annual Neighbors United to Serve Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Volunteers are needed on Thanksgiving Day and the day before to cook and package meals for 1200 people in our local community
